Apron Lip
Apron lip
First and foremost, I’d want to emphasize that these parts were machined with a “conventional” planer mill rather than a CNC (Computer Numerical Control); this, above all, illustrates our team’s talent and abilities.
An exemple of engineering beyond mesure
This Stainless steel Apron Lip is part of the same assembly as the Wedge for a Headbox.
Like the Wedge, its particular shape makes the machining process very complex, as does the polished surface finish at 0.8 Ra.
We are particularly proud of the realization of these parts, which were made by an exceptional team.
Wedge Separator
Wedge Separator
An exemple of engineering beyond mesure
This Stainless steel Wedge Separator is used to control the scale and intensity of headbox flow turbulence for the paper manufacturing process. This part has been produced for Andritz Inc., Springfield, Massachusetts.
The angled point machined to a thickness of 0.004 inches and a flatness tolerance of 0.002 inches over the length of the part—all with a polished surface finish of 0.8 Ra—are the distinguishing features of this machining marvel.
Its particular shape makes the machining process very complex.
